Collin County Courthouse, 2300 Bloomdale Rd., McKinney, Tx. 75071. The County Clerk has birth and death records from 1903; cattle brands, military discharges, deed/land records, probate/will records. The District Clerk has divorces and civil records such as law suits. The staff is one of the best in Texas, however they are not there to do genealogical research requests. You may order copies of records if you have the exact information. Check with the courthouse for the current fees. There is an Index to Texas Births and Deaths on microfilm that most large libraries have and you may be able to obtain through inter-library loan or from the FamilySearch Affiliate Libraries nearest you.
